Independent Living and Life Skills Training
CORIL's on-site Computer Lab is designed with you in mind. It has been our experience that the typical educational setting sets the pace of their classes to be noncompatible with the needs of a person with a disability. Each lesson will be completed within your learning style. That means the pace will be set by you!
Class Descriptions:
Microsoft Word® Basic Class includes:
- Create standard documents
- Edit, save, format, and print a created document
- Spelling, Grammar and Thesaurus usage
Microsoft Excel® Basic Class includes:
- Create spreadsheets
- Edit, save and print created spreadsheets
- Learn to use formulas
- Format cells, rows and columns
Take a Ride on the Brain Train®
Brain Train® is a cognitive retraining computer software program for people who have experienced brain injury through illness or injury.
Basic Internet and Keyboarding
Learn how to touch type and surf the Net.
Specific Adaptive Software:
Dragon Naturally Speaking® is voice recognition software. This program can be trained to recognize your voice! CORIL allows you to test drive this software before you, as an employee, request this as a job accommodation. JAWS,® Open Book® and MAGic® are software programs that assist people with visual impairment in computer navigation. Adaptive Equipment such as the Kensington Expert Mouse and Datalux Keyboard training is also available.
