Accomplishments 2007

Oregon State University Partnership

CORIL was able to expand our volunteer base by over 20%, in part due to a new partnership with Oregon State University.

Students from various departments enrolled in fieldwork placements at CORIL to work with our participants as a support to their daily programs.  Many of these volunteers have been trained in Brain Train, a software based computer program that allows each volunteer to sit with a person with a disability and help them exercise and strengthen their brains through participation in various games and puzzle challenges.  Because of the college volunteers and other expanded community volunteer interest we have been able to increase  our Brain Train instruction by over 35% which means more of our participants are receiving the one on one instruction they need that are staffing ratio limits would otherwise not allow.
